This year, in addition to our ninth consecutive look at area business women and what makes
them tick, we also spotlight on this page four of our very own Women in Business, without a doubt
some of the most gifted women anywhere. — Pat Bradford
Teresa Kramer
Creative Director
I love creating
and making
things look
beautiful. During
the last seven and
a half years, directing
12 issues a year,
six to ten articles a
month, cover shoots,
countless advertisements,
editorial
meetings and brainstorming
sessions has
allowed me to pour
myself into doing
what I love.
I have had the opportunity to work with some truly amazing
people but the three ladies I share this page with are those rare
gems that build you up, cheer for your success and offer unwavering
support. They are smart, driven and their talents are unsurpassed.
I have learned so much from each of them.

Find a job you
love and you’ll
never have to
work a day in your
life.”
I found more than
a job in February
2003 when I came to
work at Wrightsville
Beach Magazine and
Lumina News. I was
looking for a way
to get to know the
community and meet people, but fell in love with the products
and the people who produce them, and never looked back. If
someone asks for the secret to success I would have to say it is
persistence. That is what motivates me every day. Knowing that
“no” just means “I am not ready yet.”

After eight
years with
Wrightsville
Beach Magazine,
I still get excited
when the publication
hits the stands each
month. Even more
rewarding than seeing
the finished product is the opportunity to meet the people
in our pages. In addition to WBM and sister publication Lumina
News, I also work with families and businesses in the area. I think
photographing the subjects of our stories, our advertisers and my
freelance clients is the best job in town!

Editorial Director
Some story
ideas emerge
like faceted
gems. Others begin
as a grain of sand,
lacquered like pearls
from first draft to
publication. I am
blessed by a legion of
talented colleagues,
the passion of writers, the dedication of interns, the perfection
of copy editors and proofreaders. Five and half years ago I joined
this team as a staff writer. With more than 20 years of published
writing and editing credits, the role of editorial director is the
most challenging and rewarding thus far.
