Put on your walking shoes and get ready for the
7th annual Back Door Kitchen Tour on Saturday,
October 20. Attendees will have the opportunity to
admire the elegantly designed historic kitchens of down-town
Wilmington at their leisure from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nine homes
will be featured on the tour and guests are encouraged to visit as
many homes as they choose at their own pace. Founded in 1973, the
Residents of Old Wilmington organization established this tour to raise
money for downtown projects. ROW volunteers greet, guide and host
the event. Local artist Alessandro Giambra painted the logo for the
tour. Tickets can be purchased online, at Wilmington-area Harris Teeter
stores and on the day of the event at the Community Arts Center on
Second Street. Tour tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children
under 12. For more information about the tour and the list of featured
homes, visit the website at www.ROWilmington.org.
Three of the nine locations on the 7th annual Back Door Kitchen
Tour are, top to bottom, South ‘n France, 822 Orange Street, and
private residences at No. 5 Church Street and 621 Dock Street.
