Dr. Rosalyn George of the Wilmington
Dermatology Center (1721 Allens Lane,
Wilmington, 910-256-4350) is old-school
when it comes to delivering high-quality,
caring service and providing patient access,
but completely cutting edge when it comes
to treatment, education and technology
— she runs clinical trials out of her office and
has trained with some of the top names in
cosmetic dermatology.
Though Dr. George opened her sole practitioner
office in 2008 — in the middle of a
recession, on the heels of moving to town
with two toddlers in tow — she has been
busy since day one. She and her husband,
Ed, the business manager, are moving their
office to a new location, twice the size, in
Howe Creek Landing. They are also adding
an experienced dermatology physicians
assistant to accommodate their patient- and
research-related growth, while making sure
their patients receive the same superior service
going forward.
The Mayfaire-Landfall-Wrightsville Beach
area is the perfect location for Dr. George,
who liked the idea of being in an office
convenient to folks on that side of town.
She’s a serious beach lover, too, but with
a dermatologist’s eye to going off hours,
wearing shirts, hats and plenty of highpower
sunscreen. “Sun plays a big part in
everyone’s life down here. It’s important
to protect yourself and your skin. That’s for
sure,” she says.
Dr. George runs a full-service practice,
has a passion for treating acne and loves the
cosmetic aspect of the business. It’s her varied
client base — from young to old — that
keeps her charged up and ready to grow.
No matter their age, Dr. George values her
patients’ concerns and makes sure each and
every one of them is heard.
