ATLANTIC MARINE

“Protecting your investment
and ensuring each day on the
water is trouble free are our
top priorities,” says Richard Lane, service
director at Atlantic Marine. “We have
the very best staff to help us deliver on
that promise,” says Buddy Mercer, service
advisor. Richard is also quick to proudly
point out the wall of service awards his
team has earned from Grady-White,
Yamaha and Garmin.
Throughout the day, customers bring in
their boats by water and trailer to Atlantic
Marine for new bottom paint, complete
detail, or even a new hull color. Other
boats are picked up and delivered to and
from the customer’s slip or boat lift by the
marina staff.
The typical day around Atlantic Marine’s
service department starts with the roar of
the forklifts setting a new line of boats on
the work racks. Mechanics begin changing
engine oil and water pumps. Marina
trucks towing the fleet of yard trailers
make the short trip from the rigging shop
on Wrightsville Avenue to the marina.
They are quickly loaded with other boats
scheduled for larger projects and are towed
back to the rigging shop.
Wayne Henry, parts manager, reviews
work orders and pulls parts from the
Marina’s extensive inventory. Wayne insures
that parts are available for the mechanics
and assists other do-it-yourself customers
in finding the right part for their project.
Just two miles from the beach at
the rigging shop, customers’ boats are

stroke motors or receiving a complete
electronics overhaul with the latest Garmin
equipment. A new 2013 Grady-White
Freedom 225 is measured for canvas covers
to preserve the finish before it is delivered
to the customer. The boat will also receive
Garmin GPS and bottom sounder and
Fusion satellite stereo while it is at the
rigging shop. The waterproof iPod dock
will also be a hit with the owner’s children.
“We have been here over 35 years and
we will be here the next 35 years,” says
David Floyd, president, as he looks over
to his son, Will. “We want to make your
family a part of our Atlantic Marine
family.” Richard, Buddy, Wayne and the
entire Atlantic Marine staff are here to
help you ensure each day on the water is
trouble free.
