DESIGNED to host friends and family, the four-bedroom house
can sleep up to 12. Bates and Millar wanted to make sure
guests with mobility challenges or young children would feel
welcome and comfortable, so the sitting room just inside the
front entrance converts easily to a guest bedroom and has its own bathroom,
eliminating the need to navigate the stairs.
Muted tones throughout the home set the stage for vibrant splashes of color
and arresting art. A driftwood centerpiece and oyster shell painting bring
beachy vibes to the dining area. Upstairs, a striking art piece of upcycled paint
cans adorns the landing. Right: The sitting room just inside the front entry
converts into an additional guest room, complete with full bath. A floating bar
and glimpses of the rear courtyard draw the eye toward the spacious living area.
