Tents mushroomed around
the ancient Airlie Oak as a
prelude to the 66th North
Carolina Azalea Festival
Luncheon and Garden Party
at Airlie Gardens on April 12.
Showers were forecasted, but
nothing a good hat couldn’t
fix, and there were plenty of
them on parade this year.
Even though The Citadel’s
Summerall Guard performed
their marching drill under
cover, the sun eventually
made its way out to shine
upon the partygoers. A few
were spotted earlier that
morning at Intracoastal Realty’s
Pre-party Brunch at Havana’s
on Wrightsville Avenue.
