Port City Jazzercise Fitness Center provides an exciting
group fitness experience for all ages, body shapes
and sizes. Choreographed to today’s hottest music,
Jazzercise tones and sculpts your muscles for maximum fat
burning with a combination of resistance training, Pilates,
yoga and kickboxing.
In 2011, Port City Jazzercise opened with three instructors
and 15 classes per week.
“Catherine Helgesen and Terry Noe opened this studio
with me,” says owner Sarah Chapman. “Terry has been
Jazzercising for 28 years. Catherine came to the dance floor
with her iPod in one hand and her calculator in the other…
We are a great team, each with our own strengths, which
really works.”
Today, Jazzercise has expanded to nine CPR certified
dance instructors and has doubled class offerings.
“We are growing most with young moms who have
discovered their inner dancer and the value of a little ‘me’
time,” Chapman says. “Babysitting is provided free of charge.
We schedule classes between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
and are constantly evaluating the schedule and trying to be

available when our customers want to dance.”
“We are also constantly rewarding customers as they
reach fitness goals and attendance milestones,” Chapman
says. “It’s amazing how hard people will work for a free
T-shirt or a work-out towel, but it’s really the dancing, mixed
with the camaraderie that keeps people coming back!”
Jazzercise focuses on creating a friendly, no-pressure
environment for its customers.
“We are positive motivators and provide easy-to-follow
cues and safety reminders,” Chapman says. “I love
Jazzercise and I believe in the high quality fitness product
our instructors deliver in front of each and every class. I
know you will find results on our dance floor. And I know
the results will not only be a more physically fit body, but a
healthier mind and spirit.”
