RED CROSS GALA
The Cape Fear Chapter of the
American Red Cross held its annual
gala and auction on Saturday,
March 16 at the Burney Center on
the University of North Carolina
Wilmington campus. With more than
300 people in attendance, the gala
raised more than $75,000 in support
of the local Cape Fear Chapter of the
Red Cross and the vital programs and
services it provides. This year’s gala
was co-chaired by Gary L. Miller,
UNCW Chancellor, and his wife,
Georgia Nix Miller. Entertainment
provided by Carl Newton and the
5th Avenue Band and performance
speed-painter Tim Decker guaranteed
an enjoyable evening in support
of a good cause for everyone in
attendance.
