Jason Mista, a University of North Carolina
Wilmington graduate and co-owner of Fuzzy
Peach, has made a mark with his hip and happening
frozen yogurt bar. “It’s a perfect combination of
good taste and healthiness,” Mista says. Choose from
a variety of handpicked fresh fruits, cookies and candies
from the toppings bar, then put the cup on the
scale—orders are paid for by weight—and prepare
to be wowed. Tart Yogurt covered with
fresh fruit and granola is a bestseller that
needs no further introduction. The Racine Drive
store opened in July 2010, the Porter’s Neck location
opened in February, and more locations are on
the way. “We have a downtown store opening soon.
We also have one opening in Monkey Junction this
summer,” Mista says.

exotic pancakes
“They’re amazing,” says Rich Dunn, manager of
Happy Days Diner (890 Town Center Drive, 910-256-
6224), about his restaurant’s specialty stuffed
crepes. Another fabulous eatery by Ash Aziz, Happy Days
Diner opened in November 2010 at Mayfaire Town Center. The
crepes that Dunn is so excited about are not your traditional
pancakes. Made with wheat flour, filled with citrus cream
cheese, each is garnished with a wide variety of terrific toppings,
such as Nutella and bananas, strawberry Grand Marnier,
caramel banana and walnut, chocolate sauce and chips, or blueberry
sauce. Whatever the choice may be, enjoy the crepes in
a setting where the 1950s’ era comes to life. The atmosphere
is colorful and peppy, just like attentive staff. “We are having a
bunch of fun,” Dunn says. —Travis Lane
