Outdoor entertaining
“My house is full of people all the time; that’s why we built
the house. We do a lot of entertaining on the patio, as well.

And when some people are cooking in the kitchen, they’re either outside
or in,” Donna explains. “I told David I did not want a beautiful
front and a back that I can’t live in...We want to live outside.”
Donna flew to Florida to visit homes to gather ideas that she
brought back to McCall.
“He’s so focused and particular, this is what he came up with outside,”
she says.
Dramatic archways perforate the exterior walls of the porch and
lounge area which offer just as many amenities as the interior
kitchen, complete with surround sound and outdoor heaters. And
with gorgeous Lloyd/Flanders cottage series furniture, guests can
relax in front of the outdoor fireplace or flat-screen TV (not shown).
A stainless steel grill and bar area with a sink and garbage disposal
flank the gas fireplace. Exquisite mahogany eaves contribute to the
overall integrity of the house, while decadent columns leading down
the steps to the manicured lawn complete the outdoor extension of
the Gurleys’ extravagant kitchens.
Skylights were placed in the porch ceiling to allow natural,
great detail
overhead light in and an exhaust system takes unwanted cigar
smoke and cooking odors away.

The refrigerator (seen on page 45) has been
cleverly disguised with cabinetry panels to
blend into the surrounding space as well.
Across from the range, on the
great detail
island, sit two hidden dishwasher drawers
and weighted trash cans.
