Willie Wonka was the theme of
this year’s gala auction and seated
dinner. A bridge over a chocolate
river and a Willie Wonka cake were
the centerpieces for the live auction.
Jody MacDonald, one of Florida’s Top
10 DJs returned to spin disks. Forty
percent of the CAPP center budget is
raised during the annual event. The
remaining 60 percent is supported
by grants. Observing 35 years, CAPP
funds support breaking the chain
of child abuse through advocacy,
education, mentoring, empowerment
and nutrition.
DREAMS PRESENTS
October 12
DREAMS Center for Arts Education
hosted a gala attended by 250 guests
treated to inspiring performances by
the center’s students. Patrons browsed
through and purchased original works
made by the teaching artists and
students. The evening’s theme, “On
Top of the World,” was experienced
through the dinner, dessert, wine
and dancing to a live DJ in the
Hilton-Wilmington Riverside. A fast-paced
live auction was held for all
participants. Proceeds directly aid the
programs and classes held at DREAMS
Center for Arts Education, which
focuses on inspiring and motivating
the minds of young and old alike.
