The Nautilus
I saw the article online today featuring
Bob Timberlake’s former home. I think
the text and the photos are great. Thanks
again for including me. It brings back
memories of younger days, Ligon’s support
and friendship and a life changing adven-ture.
Just having my name mentioned in
the article emotionally completes, full circle,
the arc that I’ve carried in my heart for
all this time.

Let’s Talk
You and the staff did such a great job
on this month’s magazine. The hospice
piece is beneficial and helpful to so many
people. Reaching out to the masses to
make passing into our next life more spe-cial
and easier to accept. It brings it home
for me when I think of my mother’s pass-ing
in 2003. I so wish hospice had been
there. My family and I did not know of
their outreach.
But great job! So glad we could do this
and so glad I was a part of this.
You are obviously a very special and
caring person.

. . our prayers have been answered!
I saw the link and the article for the
end of life care discussion and I was
moved! I do not know how you “fit it all
in,” but I was truly blessed to be there,
to be a part of the event, and I’m blessed
today for having read it.
You and the team did a phenomenal
job. I thank you again for allowing me to
be there and to share.
From the bottom of my hospice heart,

Pink Ribbons
Thank you for inspiring the Harbor
Island Garden Club to decorate a tree
in Harbor Way Garden with pink
ribbons. Each ribbon bears the name
of someone in this community who
has battled the scourge of breast cancer.
Your efforts are contributing greatly
toward cancer awareness, research
and treatment.
We are proud to share this effort with
you. Together we can make a difference.
Again, our sincere thanks.

Harbor Island Garden Club
I looked at the photograph of the
Pink Ribbon tree online when the
email arrived regarding the new month’s
publication and sent it to the garden
club. It is even more lovely in the
magazine that I picked up today.
Apparently everyone was anxious to
see the magazine as I picked up the last
copy at the beach Teeter this afternoon
and it is not yet October 1.
The photograph is beautiful and
thought provoking at the same time.
What a great idea to honor those who
have been affected — survivors and
those remembered.
Today, a few of us expanded on the
inspiration by decorating the main arbor
at Harbor Way Garden with pink mesh
garland decor. Elise Running crafted a
Pink Ribbon symbol. The arbor looks
great now and the symbol will add the
exclamation point to the cause.
We plan to have it up to as long as
possible through the month as a
companion to the Pink Ribbon tree.
It has been wonderful to see so many
visit the tree and sit on the bench to
reflect the meaning of the ribbons.

Dress Code
While I realize I should probably take
a deep breath and compose my thoughts
before hitting send, I cannot wait!
I am a parent of a WBS student, and
frankly I am completely embarrassed
by the article that you recently published
about Wrightsville Beach PTA Fashion.
If you are going to write something about
the PTA, the “T” is for Teacher. You
may want to include a mention of one
the great teachers at the school. They
are some of the most important people
in our children’s lives. I understand that
you need content for your issue, but this
could have been written just as easily
about the same group of folks without
a mention of the PTA. I have inserted
a link to the WBS PTA website below.
There you will find their mission state-ment
and perhaps some ideas for future
magazine content. Another great reason
to have school uniforms!!!!

General Excellence
There are several magazines in the
Wilmington/WB area vying for readers’
attention and advertisers’ dollars, but
Wrightsville Beach Magazine is far and
away the best of them. First, it is a beau-tiful
magazine. And it is the right size,
not too small, not too large, just right
for perusing comfortably. The articles
are pertinent to the region and I always
learn many things I did not know. They
do not waste our time with articles about
whether we should pack light or not, or
how to find a Walmart in the middle of
the night. I even save these magazines.
