Red Cross Gala
and Auction
Nearly 300 people attended
the 31st Annual Red Cross Gala
and Auction that was held on
March 24 at the Country Club
of Landfall. There was a special
performance by Madonna Nash,
who sang “Tell Me,” a tribute to
disaster victims and Red Cross
response and recovery efforts.
The event raised thousands of
dollars to support the humanitarian
programs and services
provided by the Red Cross.
Azalea Festival
Luncheon and
Garden Party
Bright floral prints and hot
pastel hues showcased in so many
fashion statements more than
made up for the absence of the
beloved azalea blossoms which
flowered early this year, preempting
their appearance during
the 65th North Carolina Azalea
Festival’s Luncheon and Garden
Party customarily held at Airlie
Gardens. Hundreds turned out
sporting the latest trends to relish
barbecue amid pretty belles and
dandies in bowties.
