Mint Julep Jubilee

The Junior League of Wilmington presents the fourth annual
Kentucky Derby celebration at Poplar Grove Plantation.
All proceeds will benefit the league’s goal as a nonprofit
organization to raise support and awareness for its
partnership with the Blue Ribbon Commission and Sunset
Park Elementary School. The league is dedicated to bridging
the gap and providing additional resources for children
that live and play in high-risk neighborhoods. There will be
live race coverage, a raffle for fabulous prizes, a mint julep

Celebrate women at the YWCA Women of Achievement
Awards at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside. This signature
event celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of
women and young leaders in southeastern North Carolina.
Honorees will be recognized for notable achievements in
their fields, exemplary service to their communities and
schools, and willingness to take leadership positions on
issues that have an impact on the Cape Fear area. Since
1985, this event has honored 232 women and awarded
college scholarships to 67 young leaders in Brunswick,
Columbus, New Hanover and Pender counties. Registration
