Upfront

Celebrate with us as we soar smoothly into yet another year.
Please rest assured the erroneous October Star-News report of my demise as publisher of this fine magazine was unexplainably fabricated a total untruth. I join the ranks of an august legion of others who have had false information printed about them.
I am proud of what we have accomplished in the many years since we published our first issue in December 2000; what an amazing journey. And even as we look back over such sustained success we have every confidence our future years will be greater than our past.
In this issue you’ll find a great selection of antique cars and the story of the Colonial Dames. Add in local surf icon Roy Turner and current pro Mason Barnes mouth-watering Christmas cakes and a killer Banks Channel cottage bedecked for the holidays stir in an artist who works in pastels and people who volunteer to be friends and mentors to at-risk youth and you have another recipe for great reading.
Enjoy — and Merry Christmas! Never forget He is the reason for this season.
