This year’s photo contest
is avian-themed
When we asked for your best
photos of wildlife, we anticipated a
wide assortment of local critters. But
mostly, we received images of beautiful
birds — cormorants, terns, egrets,
herons. Birds captured in flight, and
birds seeming to strike a pose.
This year’s Grand Prize winner —
the cover photo —
came from the
incredible selection of avian images,
so we decided to introduce the gal-lery
with the wildlife winners. That’s
followed by more striking photos that
bear witness to the beauty of our
home here on the coast.
Thank you to everyone who sub-mitted
a photo for the contest. We
received many amazing images, and
it was extremely difficult to pare them
down to the selections that appear on
the next few pages.
