“For I was an
hungred, and ye
gave me meat: I was
thirsty, and ye gave
me drink: I was a
stranger, and ye
took me in: Naked,
and ye clothed me:
I was sick, and ye
visited me: I was in
prison, and ye came
unto me.”
— Matthew 25:35-46 (KJV)
Kimberly Gatlin,
44, says she made a
bad choice leaving
her employment at
Verizon Wireless,
citing it as the reason
she is homeless.
She is from Virginia
and has no family in
the Wilmington area.
Gatlin, who is on
the Good Shepherd
housing plan, has
been staying at the
center since March 25.
“I thought I wasn’t
going to be able to
open up,” she says.
“Everyone was so
sociable. I thought
it was a pretty good
experience.”
