Greenfield gazebo was dreamy
BY J.F. Newber

This is just a note to let you and your staff know how much I enjoyed David Norris’ story on Greenfield Park that appeared in your September 2024 issue of Wrightsville Beach Magazine. But there was a little piece of the lakes history that I missed in Norris’ story.
Near the children’s playground there stood a gazebo — or as some called it, a band stand — and on Sunday afternoons in the park, the local school bands gave concerts in that gazebo on the lakeshore.
It was a pretty little building with a spiral roof, and the music played there seemed to echo across the lake water with a wonderful effect.
