A
T the opposite end of the entry
hall, the open-concept
kitchen, dining and liv-ing
area are designed for
easy entertaining. The kitchen cabinets
by Jeff Fuchs of FFT Cabinetry are
complemented by the custom concrete
countertops by Alex Blythe of Beton
Boutique, who ingrained sand and bits
of oyster shells into the counters for
a pearlescent, coastal touch. Honey-colored
hardwood floors bring warmth
to the space, as does the sunlight
streaming through large windows on
all sides. What appears to be a chim-ney
from the outside of the home is
actually a light shaft, which allows sun-light
to reflect off the metal fish sculp-ture
by Michael VanHaute hanging
above the “mantel.” The dining table
was made as a housewarming gift by
Jim Morrison, a friend of the couple.
The wide entry hall serves as a gallery
and leads to the home’s open living
space. Designed for entertaining, the
open floor plan and second-story bal-cony
make the whole living area feel
connected and inviting.
