letters to the editor Remembering Whiskey Creek Great job, photography and article (“Framing Memories on Whiskey Creek,” by Danielle Boisse, November 2014) is terrific. Thank you! — Dave Spetrino, Plantation Building Corp, Wilmington, NC Whoops! I just looked over the article (“Framing Memories on Whiskey Creek,” by Danielle Boisse, November 2014), it looks great. Just one problem: this design was a collaboration with my partner Troy Kenny. We operate together under Design House. Last month the remodel design of the boat house was featured, (“Staying the Main,” by Marimar McNaughton, October 2014) and that was done under Cornerstone Residential Designs, Inc. The Schmidt residence was created by the two of us under Design House. Troy was integral in the development of this design, and I am embarrassed that she was not recognized. Could you please run a correction in next month’s issue citing Troy’s involvement. — John Croom, Cornerstone Residential Designs, Inc., Wilmington, NC Picnic on the Porch Recently, the Wrightsville Beach Museum hosted a group of ten members of the community for a lovely luncheon on the back porch of the museum. The luncheon was the result of a community member winning this as an auction item at Lumina Daze held at the Blockade Runner in August. But having the idea of the luncheon as an auction item was the result of your article (“From the Back Porch,” July 2014). Museum board members submitted summer recipes and, with your help, developed a delicious menu! Your staff made our menu look positively exquisite through words and pictures! We wish to thank you for helping us to develop the idea and to give us the confidence to place our luncheon as an item in the auction. — Jan Wessell, Wrightsville Beach, NC We would love to hear from you!
