Taking a look back at the Lower Cape Fear’s past

The Cape Fear Museum of History and Science’s photograph collection, consisting of more than 15,000 images, can now be accessed online by researchers and the general public. Website visitors can browse the database or search using keywords. A search of “Wrightsville Beach” currently yields 743 results, including this postcard by Jack W. Loughlin of a group of women with a lifeboat in the mid-1950s.
