WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH POLICE OFFICER’S BALL November 9 The Wrightsville Beach Police Officer’s Ball had its strongest year this year by raising more than $6,000 for its Wrightsville Beach Police Recreation and Benevolence Association Fund, which is used to assist the families of injured police-men and women. Almost 300 guests ate and danced at the Holiday Inn Resort, having a wonderful time. While there, it was voted that $1,000 of the money raised would go to a fallen Nashville policeman’s family and another $1,000 would be given to the local family of injured New Hanover County Sheriff’s Detective Michael Spencer.
