Oneness was emphasized by the evening’s theme, Families Unite as One. Type one diabetes elimination is the group’s mission. Twyla Satterfield, an early champion of the JDRF chapter, was rec-ognized, along with her husband, Scott Satterfield. Collectively, $386,000 was raised for juvenile diabetes research. Guests enjoyed cocktails, silent auction bidding, guest speakers, dinner, a live auction, McCain’s entertainment and dancing from 6 pm until midnight. PHOTOS BY EMMY ERRANTE GREATER WILMINGTON SPORTS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY Approximately 400 attended the May 4 Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the University of North Carolina Wilmington Burney Center. On May 3, 30 teams played during the annual golf tournament at Cape Fear National at Brunswick Forest. Business com-munity members teamed up with past and present inductees to raise money for the Bill Dooley Scholarship Fund for high school and college student athletes.
