Fireworks opened and closed the beginning of the boat procession, allowing spectators to text their votes for favorite floats. Brady Semmel’s Jaws took home the Best Overall award with a “Great White Christmas” theme and Skip Wilson’s boat, The Bottom Line, took home the People’s Choice award with “Charlie Brown’s Christmas.” The weekend was filled with holiday cheer for all who participated in this Wrightsville Beach tradition. HOPE FROM HELEN SURF SILENT AUCTION The Hope from Helen Foundation hosted another memorable night at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort on December 6, 2013, where a lively auction and raffle was held for the Ninth Annual Hope from Helen Surf Silent Auction. Guests bid on items while enjoying complimentary food from Tower 7 and the Audi Cape Fear red carpet photo booth. More than $45,000 raised helps families in crisis and benefits environmental causes.
