A tangle of native trees and shrubs covered a ten-foot dune blocking exquisite views of snaking rivulets through marsh islands on the backside of Figure Eight Islands north end. Here Virginia Woodruff and Ligon Flynn designed the second home for a Greensboro family; Jim Farlow built it and David Erwin landscaped this roughhewn site.
 
 
 
At the height of Wrightsvilles sailing season, sports medicine specialist Dr. Anne Allen can usually be spotted at the Carolina Yacht Club dock. For decades, her career has blown her to the far corners of the globe to Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, Beijing, Athens and the USA where she helps athletes cross the finish line.
Three friends find their way to vegan eating and in the process change the way they approach their lifestyle, influence their families and inspire each other. But where do they go when they want to dine out? Executive Chef Mark Lawson of East Oceanfront Dining at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort is prepped and ready to serve.
